Chicken Stock

Total Time: 4–6 hr

Ingredients:

  • 🐔 2–3 lbs chicken bones or a whole chicken carcass
  • 🥕 2 carrots, chopped
  • 🌿 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 🧄 2 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 🌿 2 bay leaves
  • 🧂 1 tsp sea salt
  • 💧 10 cups filtered water
  • 🌿 Optional: fresh parsley, thyme, or peppercorns

Step-by-Step Process:

  1. Place chicken bones, vegetables, garlic, herbs, and salt in a large pot.
  2. Add water and bring to a gentle simmer.
  3. Simmer 4–6 hours, skimming foam occasionally.
  4. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean container.
  5. Cool, refrigerate up to 5 days, or freeze up to 6 months.
