đź’§ Hydration as Cellular Communication

Hydration is often discussed as a quantity problem—how much water to drink, how often, or what to add. Biologically, hydration is not about volume alone. It is about communication at the cellular level.

Water is the medium through which nearly every physiological process occurs. It allows nutrients to move, waste to be removed, electrical signals to travel, and biochemical reactions to unfold. Without adequate hydration, the body does not simply “run low”—it receives altered signals about safety, efficiency, and energy availability.

In this way, hydration is not passive. It is informational.
